South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has released 14 endangered sea turtles into the ocean from the nation's southern resort island of Jeju.
Of them, four turtles were rescued, three were hatched artificially and the rest came from abroad for research.
Wednesday's event was joined by nearly 100 people including the minister, representatives of related organizations and citizens.
The move comes amid enhanced international awareness on the need to preserve sea turtles that are on the verge of extinction.
