Ratings for 2019 VMAs Are
the Show's Lowest Ever 'The Hollywood Reporter' says that
1.93 million tuned in to watch the event. In the 18-49 age demographic,
the 2019 VMAs drew a 0.9 rating. That is a drop from 2018's
1.1 rating and 2.25 million viewers. TV ratings for the award show have
now fallen for a third straight year. The slide coincides with the
overall ongoing drop in
TV-viewing numbers. On the flip side, social and online audiences
are continuing to rise, with the VMAs
seeing an 85 percent jump from 2018. Leading up to 2019's show,
social engagement also
doubled from last year.
