2019 인천국제 1인미디어 페스티벌 열려
Media trends are shifting to a more personalized experience where anyone can create their own content.
In tune with that change, the city of Incheon is hosting an event to help support potential new digital content creators.
Won Jung-hwan takes us there.
Digital media content creators and fans gathered in Incheon's Songdo Convensia on Friday for the 2nd edition of the Incheon International Single-Media Festival. From beauty to gaming and cooking, a wide range of digital content was being showcased.
Several high-profile social media influencers including BOKYEM, RISABAE and Chinese online influencers, the so-called Wang Hong, took to the stage to show people how to create their own top-quality content.
The festival aims to support potential content creators by providing information about everything they might need.
And a TV host from Hong Kong, who came all the way to Incheon to learn how to become a digital content creator,… says she has already come up with her own concept.
"So one of the topics I'd like to do is a dating challenge. So let's say I hack into my friend's phone and use their dating app and I pick blind date for them. And my friend would do vice versa. I think it's sort of interesting prank challenge, it's casual"
"At the event, visitors can interact with famous content creators and also see the latest in portable equipment that can help them make high-quality content.”
Arirang TV was at the festival to showcase how media technology has significantly changed,... by presenting a live TV home shopping show that is filmed just using mobile phones.
And a TV host, who tried using a phone to make content for the first time, was dazzled by the new technology.
"The quality of filming with mobile phone is outstanding these days, I do not feel the need to purchase a separate camera. It was nice to see that I can get feedbacks straight away and also I can take photos whenever I want."
At the 2-day event, visitors can personally see the boom in digital-based media. And the organizers hope that this annual event will keep growing further in the future so that they can provide better opportunities for potential creators to launch their own content.
