Native wooden passenger boats resume the Guimaras-Iloilo City & vice versa trips Tuesday after DOTr Sec. Tugade lifted the suspension. This is after Guimaras Gov. Gumarin appealed to President Duterte Monday to allow normal & regular trips to resume along the Iloilo Strait in the aftermath of the August 3 sea tragedy that killed 31 people. Prior to Tuesday’s resumption, passengers had to wait in line for almost four hours (as shown in the drone video) before being able to board RoRo ships & ferries, which were the only trips allowed by the Philippine Coast Guard. But this was burdensome to majority of the people as it is expensive. (Videos by Tara Yap & Guimaras Satellite Command Post)
