Good morning. It's a rainy start to the day for western regions. Due to the indirect effect of Typhoon Lekima, moderate to heavy showers are falling in western parts of the country.
Five to 40 millimeters are expected for most western regions. Jeju and southern provinces will see showers last into the afternoon, up north will see rain until early Tuesday.
Meanwhile, heat wave alerts remain in place for many regions. It was one steamy weekend and heat wave warnings are still in effect for Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chungcheongbuk-do Provinces.
It will be a windy and rainy start to the morning for western regions but overnight lows were above 25 degrees Celsius in many regions yet again.
Daily highs will be 31 to 35 degrees Celsius this afternoon. Regions in the east will be under mostly sunny skies with strong UV rays.
