Good morning. Dark clouds are dropping heavy rain of 30 to 50 millimeters an hour on Seoul and its surrounding area right now. The weather agency has issued heavy rain alerts for the metropolitan region.
Expect to see the showers last through Thursday morning. It'll be heavier the further north you are. Southern regions will only see passing showers during the day.
Rain-affected areas will get some relief from the heat. Some other parts of the country will be dealing with intense heat. No rain means a heat wave warning remains in place for Daegu and parts of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces.
Daily highs will range between 29 and 35 degrees Celsius. So have sunblock or your rain gear ready,... depending on where you are.
Intense heat returns to the capital from next Monday and we could see highs soaring to 35 degrees in Seoul.
