The Seoul Metropolitan Government, for the first time, plans to designate a quarry used for constructing one of the Joseon Dynasty's royal tombs as part of the city's cultural heritage.
The quarry on Bukhansan mountain in the northern part of the city is the first such site to have its exact location known.
The engraved rocks at the site say the quarry was used to build a royal tomb in the 17th century and was off-limits to those without authorization.
