Sure, Mark. Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the Mexican cartel boss in question, has been sentenced to life in prison without the chance for parole.
This comes after a jury found him guilty in February on all counts of smuggling tons of drugs to the U.S.
He was found guilty on ten federal charges, including murder conspiracies, running a continuing criminal enterprise and other drug-related charges.
In addition to his life sentence, Guzman has to pay a 12-point-6 billion U.S. dollar forfeiture, the estimated amount of money he made through drug-trafficking.
Before his sentencing, Guzman told the judge that his case was stained and he had been denied a fair trial.
He described his incarceration in the U.S. as "physical, emotional and mental torture".
Guzman's defense said the trial was "not justice" alleging up to five jurors broke the law by reading about the trial.
Guzman was extradited in 2017 to an ultra-secure unit at a Manhattan jail after breaking out of Mexican prisons twice.
He's now expected to be transported to the Supermax federal facility in Colorado to live out the rest of his days behind bars.
