Tropical Storm Barry Could Severely Flood Louisiana While it remains to be seen if
Barry will become a hurricane,
torrential flooding is expected. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards
and President Trump have declared
a state of emergency. John Bel Edwards, via news conference According to CNN, up to 15 inches of rain
could hit areas of Louisiana that have
recently dealt with heavy downpours. Barry could also raise water levels in the Mississippi River, which are very high. Besides Louisiana, parts of Mississippi
and Alabama are at risk of flooding
from Barry's impact. CNN adds that over 10 million people could potentially be at risk from the
storm's current path.
