This was the terrifying moment staff and guests at a restaurant were sent scrambling after a powerful storm hit the Greek region of Halkidiki last night (July 10).
The severe weather has battered the region leaving six tourists dead and at least 30 more injured.
Police and the Greek army have been seen on the streets since and authorities have told residents and tourists to be on alert as there is a possibility that the storm could return tonight.
Andy Gilchrist, from Bangor, Northern Ireland, who is on holiday with his family told Newsflare: "We were enjoying dinner at the Anaya restaurant of Ikos Oceania when first a lightning show, then winds hit within seconds glasses and plates were flying, then the full storm hit and chair covers etc went flying in a truly awesome display of power by the elements.
"The storm lifts up heavy glass window panels and gets underneath into the outside part of the restaurant with frightening strength.
"Staff and guests were terrified, hiding in the restrooms and everyone was completely trapped in the restaurant which is on the edge of a steep incline facing the sea."
