The shocking moment was captured as an ice machine is washed away on Canal Street in New Orleans today (July 10) as the city deals with both a flash flood emergency and a tornado warning.
"I was working a normal shift at my job and the water was up to our ankles so naturally panic set in worried about how high would the water get. I'm still traumatized by Hurricane Katrina and I looked up and saw an ice machine floating down the street... It showed me how strong the current was and just how deep it was," said Gernine, the filmer.
The National Hurricane Center predicts Tropical Storm Barry will form in the Gulf of Mexico by Thursday and strengthen to a hurricane by Saturday, when it's expected to make landfall in Louisiana.
