Good morning. You will need an umbrella as monsoon rain returns today. A monsoonal front is closing in on the south coast, dropping heavy showers on Jeju Island and will spread to the rest of country by the afternoon.
Parts of Gangwon-do Province will receive heavy showers more than 200 millimeters Seoul, Jeju and Gyeongsang-do Provinces will see 20 to 60 millimeters, Chungcheong-do and Jeolla-do Provinces 10 to 40 millimeters. The rain will continue into tomorrow.
Temperatures will go down a few notches because of the showers, but lows are similar to yesterday, ranging from 18 to 21 degrees Celsius.
Daily highs will be in the mid to upper twenties in most parts, Seoul getting up to 28 degrees, Jeju and Busan topping out at 25 degrees.
Readings will go down further tomorrow but the heat and mostly sunny skies will return for the weekend.
