The pyramid of Pharaoh Senusret II, situated in the Faiyum governorate, has been officially opened to the public. Until now, the Al Lahun pyramid, which hails from the Twelfth Dynasty, was closed for restoration works that had begun in the 19th century. The inauguration of the monument came with new discoveries, as excavation works reportedly carried out on the southern side of the pyramid helped uncover a range of artefacts, including a variety of wooden masks.
