DIG Maqsood Ahmad interviewed by Interpol Television
Sindh Police DIG Operations Maqsood Ahmad who is visiting Singapore in connection with a conference of InterPol was interviewed by Philip Ingram for InterPol Television.
The InterPol Regional Headquarter is in Singapore whereas its Headquarter is in Lyon France .
Maqsood Ahmad appreciated the interest of Secretary General InterPol Juergen Stock in fostering collaboration to counter future security and policing challenges.
DIG Ops highlighted that a major challenge for law enforcement when dealing with issues like transnational organized crime and foreign terrorist fighters is the sufficiency of global information exchange on these trends, as well as the accessibility to the information at a platform to shape the global and strategic response.
The United Nations Security Council and other multilateral platforms such as the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIL and the G7 recognize that sharing information through INTERPOL’s global network is vital to effectively address those global threats.
The proposed Innovation & Research Center to be established by Sindh Police shall provide a much-needed multilateral platform allowing INTERPOL and national policing organizations to exchange views about their respective security strategies and capabilities in line with modern security challenges. Areas such as Artificial Intelligence , drones, Darknet, Bio Technologies and Cryptocurrency shall be part of the proposed center.
Ms Anita Hazenburg InterPol Director for Innovation will liason with DIP Ops, being the Focul Innovation Officer.
These exchanges shall ensure that the systems that will be put in place to exchange information and intercept criminals work well together. – 05.07.2019.
