Ben Simmons to Sign
Max Deal With 76ers The Philadelphia 76ers offered Simmons
a five-year, $170 million max extension. According to ESPN, both sides are
working to finalize the deal much
sooner than the mid-October deadline. Simmons was the No. 1 overall
pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. But he missed the entire 2016-2017 season
after surgery for a broken foot. He returned for the 2017-2018 season and
won the 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year. Simmons averaged 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds
and 7.7 assists this past season. The 76ers lost in the Eastern Conference
semifinals to the Toronto Raptors. Philadelphia re-signed Tobias Harris
to a five year, $180 million deal, and signed Al Horford for four years
and $109 million so far this offseason. The 76ers All-Star center Joel Embiid is also under contract on a five year, $150 million deal.
