South Korea's defense minister Jeong Kyeong-doo has apologized again for the security failure last month that allowed a North Korean boat to cross into South Korean waters undetected for several days.
Jeong was speaking to the press Wednesday just ahead of the announcement of the results of a probe into the matter.
He admitted that a "grave mistake" had been made in terms of border security... and reprimanded the commanders of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,... the head of the army infantry division and the navy's fleet in charge of maritime surveillance.
There have been claims that the military was ambigious about where they first found the boat, but the results released right after Jeong spoke indicate no false reporting by the military or concealment.
The military had initally implied the boat was drifting at sea off the east coast... but admitted later that the boat had reached on the shore.
