British tourists at Kruger National Park were forced to retreat from a buffalo that was approaching the vehicle they were in yesterday (June 27).

The incident occurred in south Kruger near Skukuza camp where the buffalo was said to be having a standoff with the car before it approached group, who had to avoid scaring the animal by reversing at a slow pace.

Hermione Hellyer who filmed the encounter said: "We were driving through the park and came across an old angry buffalo that began to stare down the car and not move out the way.

"As a result, we had to slowly reverse as not to anger the buffalo before it eventually turned away."
