In the UK, Boris Johnson enjoyed a landslide win in the first round of the Conservative Party leadership election on Thursday,.... winning more than twice as many votes as his closest rival Jeremy Hunt.
He garnered 114 votes to Hunt's 43.
Three candidates Andrea Leadsom, Esther McVey and Mark Harper were eliminated as they failed to secure at least 17 votes.
The next round of voting will take place next week and later this month, the two most popular candidates will face a final vote.
The new leader of the center-right party will be announced in late July.
The winner will take over from Theresa May as the next British Prime Minister.
