Beverly Hills to Ban
Nearly All Tobacco Sales The new law means outlets like
gas stations and convenience stores
won't be able to sell cigarettes
or cigars. Pharmacies and grocers are
prohibited from selling
them as well. Only hotels and a few select cigar lounges
within the city's borders will be exempt. The law, which also includes
e-cigarettes, starts in 2021. The ban is the first of its kind within the United States. Council Member
Lili Bosse, via CNBC The bill was opposed by
The National Association of Tobacco Outlets
and many gas station owners. They claim the ban will
hurt local businesses
and sellers of tobacco.
