北석탄수출 의심 선박 운항 계속…대부분이 북중노선
A number of North Korean ships suspected of illegally shipping coal from the regime are still actively sailing.
Voice of America reported Wednesday that a ship-tracking website shows movements for 10 of the 33 North Korean vessels that in March were on the U.S. Treasury Department watch list.
Most of these ships sailed between North Korea and China, with others sailing to Russia.
Some of the ships continued to act suspiciously by sailing with their Automatic Identification System turned off or not stating their destination.
These vessels are not themselves under sanctions, but with the Treasury watching them closely, they could be seized and investigated.
