President Trump joked about approval numbers on Sunday.
President Trump apparently made a joke about his approval numbers on Sunday. When speaking at a Ford Theatre event, he quipped: "I want to thank all of the chairs of the gala, including your honorary co-chair, America's beloved First Lady. Oh, I'd love to have her poll numbers. How do I get her poll numbers?" Based on one of the most recent surveys to include both of them, his and first lady Melania Trump's favorability ratings are actually fairly close. In a February Fox News poll, the president came in at 43% and the first lady at 47%.
Notably, that made them the most popular people in the uppermost echelon of the US government. Vice President Mike Pence came in third at 42% favorability and was followed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at 36% and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at 25%. The poll was conducted from February 10-12 and involved 1,004 participants.
