Pope Francis met on Sunday with the Roma community in Romania to ask for their forgiveness for the discrimination they have faced from Catholics over the centuries.
Check out what the pope said during his final stop in Romania before heading back to the Vatican.
"History tells us that Christians too, Catholics too, are not strangers to such evil. I would like to ask your forgiveness for this. I ask forgiveness - in the name of the Church and of the Lord - and I ask forgiveness of you. For all those times in history when we have discriminated, mistreated or looked askance at you."
The Roma people, an ethnic minority in Europe, have faced persecution in the region for generations..
They still find it difficult to get work and a proper education due to discrimination and the majority live in poverty.
