Meanwhile, Jeju has been hosting more than 40 diplomats from around the world, who have been learning about the island's culture and its public policies.
Since Monday, they've been visiting historical sites, and studying the development of Jeju-do's tourism industry.
They have also been learning about the island's goal of becoming "carbon-free" by the year 2030.
They are in Korea as part of an annual three-month program run by the Korea Foundation, which brings diplomats from around the world to learn about the Korean culture and language.
