South Korean companies' business outlook for May has fallen slightly compared to the month before.
According to the Bank of Korea, the Business Survey Index for all industries recorded 73 for May, down a single point on-month.
The central bank said business sentiment from electronics companies showed slightly better sentiment on rising smartphone demand and the weakening Korean won, which lowers Korean goods' export prices.
But oil refining companies and chemical companies' business sentiment fell on escalating U.S.-China trade tensions.
Construction companies' sentiment went up on increasing construction projects.
The outlook for June also fell.
The figure for May is below 100, meaning there are more pessimists than optimists.
