Hello Asia editor Johnny Au chats with Korean doo-wop girl group The Barberettes. Since releasing their debut album "The Barberettes Volume 1" Shinae, Grace and Sohee has gathered a strong following in Korea with their brand of harmonies and retro 50s style gaining attention. After showcasing at MU:CON music conference, Johnny sits down with the Barberettes to discuss their beginnings and influences:

"The look of The Barberettes is 1950s/60s girl group concept. Why we're different is that we try to mix the Korean feel and the American feel. So we do a mixture of different things. The thing that makes us special is being Korean." - Shinae Wheeler
