Good morning. It's a rainy and windy start to the new week. Downpours are set to lash down on Jeju Island and Hallasan Mountain, and have already dumped more than 100 millimeters of rain on parts of the island.
Heavy rain alerts are in place on Jeju Island and parts of the Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces. Not only rain, but strong winds have been slamming coastal areas and Jeju Island with an advisory in place. The wind advisory could expand to more coastal areas as the day goes on.
Storm clouds are expected to bring heavier showers to the southern side of the country. Most areas will see rain until late tonight.
Rain and wind are giving us relief from the mini heat wave, daily highs will be 8 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than yesterday, reaching the low twenties today,... and we shouldn't have any really hot weather this week.
Daily highs in most parts will be hovering in the low twenties this afternoon.
