Spring snowstorm adds to near record-breaking year for California ski resorts

A mid-May snowstorm dumped close to a foot of snow at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort on May 16th, to the delight of skiers and snowboarders. The Mammoth Lakes resort plans to stay open until early July after a very snowy winter and spring.
