Hundreds of newborn olive ridley sea turtles scramble into the sea in Amihan beach, Mati City, Davao Oriental, the Philippines on May 6.
The beautiful sight amazed beachgoers who gathered round to see the babies enjoy their first taste of the ocean.
Surfing instructor Winston Plaza, who lives on the island, captured the mother emerging from the nest and the babies later entering the sea. He said: "Apart from surfing, we try to teach tourists about respecting these guys habitat. During egg-laying season, we the locals make sure that mother turtles successfully lay their eggs and that the babies would reach the ocean."
The olive ridley sea turtle is the second smallest of all turtles and can be found in tropical waters.
