May 12th was Mother's Day for many countries around the world and Pope Francis marked the occasion offering his special greeting to mothers during his Sunday address.
"Dear brothers and sisters, today Mother's Day is celebrated in many countries. I would like to send a warm greeting to all the mothers...an applause for all mothers...thanking them for their precious work in raising children and protecting the value of the family."
Meanwhile in London, thousands of mothers marched in central London to demand action on climate change.
The Mothers Rise Up protest was led by eleven 11-year-olds to represent the deadline for 2030 for tackling global warming, set by the United Nations.
Similar marches took place in countries including Cyprus, the Netherlands, Spain, the Czech Republic and Australia.
