Comedian Wanda Sykes has a new stand-up special coming to Netflix on May 21, titled Wanda Sykes: Not Normal, and although we've only seen one clip from it so far, we're already in tears from laughing so hard.
In our exclusive footage from the special, Sykes opens up about motherhood, explaining how she's "learning how to play" thanks to her young twins Olivia Lou and Lucas Claude. From dealing with a hilarious birthday party balloon incident, to some all-too relatable bickering with her wife, Alex, Sykes' reflections on raising kids - as well as sharing her "perspective on the current political and cultural climate" - Not Normal is poised to be one of her most memorable stand-up sets to date.
This is Sykes' first stand-up special for Netflix, but her fifth overall. Previous specials include Tongue Untied (2003), Sick and Tired (2006), I'ma Be Me (2009), and What Happened . . . Ms. Sykes? (2016). Watch our clip from her latest above, and be sure to keep an eye out for the full comedy special when it drops on Netflix later this month.
