The U.S. Defense Department has confirmed North Korea fired "ballistic missiles" on Thursday.
The Pentagon said the launches by the regime consisted of multiple ballistic missiles that flew more than 300 kilometers and landed in the sea.
A Pentagon spokesperson said in a statement that the regime fired the missiles from a northwestern location in North Korea.
