Mark Gray was a member of the band 'Exile' between 1979 to 1982, however has also had success as a solo artist. His solo career includes eight top 40 country hits and three albums. Gray is also a successful songwriter, having written songs for Exile, Janie Fricke and Gary Morris.
In 1985 "Smooth Sailing (Rock in the Road)" reached #43 on the US Hot Country Charts.
