Verizon Is Trying To Sell Tumblr 'The Wall Street Journal' reports that Verizon is seeking a buyer for the blogging platform. Tumblr hosts 465.4 million blogs and 172 billion posts. In 2018, Tumblr made the controversial decision to ban pornography. This resulted in a mass exodus of users, as the AI also accidentally banned
non-adult content. Tumblr was acquired by Yahoo for
$1.1 billion in 2013. Verizon bought Yahoo for $4.5 billion
in 2017. Verizon is attempting to recover after a $4.6 billion write-down last year.
