Chitals or spotted deers are a common deer species found in India. It can be found roaming in the forests of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and in small numbers in Pakistan. Spotted deers are usually found flocked together in dense deciduous or semi-evergreen forests and open grasslands. The population of chitals are enormous in widlife parks such as the Corbett, Kanha, Dudhwa, Bandhavgarh, Mudumalai and Sariska.
The best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park is from November 15 to June 15 as it is open for tourists during that time. Corbett national park remains closed from June 16 and November 14.
