Ohio Governor Signs
Ban on Abortion
After First Heartbeat Republican Gov. Mike DeWine
signed the stringent abortion
restriction into law on Thursday. The signing of the
"heartbeat bill" is considered
a major victory for abortion opponents. According to doctors,
a fetal heartbeat can
be detected as early as

exceptions for women
who become pregnant
because of rape or incest. Mike DeWine, OH Governor, via AP DeWine's predecessor,
Republican John Kasich,
twice vetoed the measure
because it was unconstitutional. The ACLU of Ohio
is already preparing a
constitutional challenge to the law.
