“… Her voice may actually be angelic enough to permeate and hover within your subconscious mind. She’s a songwriter and guitarist at heart, combining passionate lyrics with upbeat tunes that are folk-tinged and pop-friendly.”
- The Villager

… “Amy showed you could still keep your artwork subtle while portraying powerful lyrical messages at the same time. Anyone who’s heard her recorded material knows she can sing on tape, but even in a live setting her angelic voice and hauntingly beautiful lyrics keep her close following the footsteps of Ingrid Michaelson, Missy Higgins, or Brandi Carlile.”
- Pancakes & Whiskey

Amy Vachal is a singer/songwriter based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The sale of two paintings brought her to New York seven years ago. The first was of a half-naked singer in the center of a crowded Webster Hall. The other, of High Line strangers wandering high above 10th Ave. Both, set in the very city she’d soon call home. She painted them at Swarthmore College where she studied Studio Arts and Econ. and recorded her first handful of songs called Appleseed. Most of her early lyrics were penned on paper cups and waitress pads before their debut at various open mics and cafes downtown. Soon she became a regular at Rockwood Music Hall where she met Ken Rockwood, an indie label owner and producer of her second EP called Crinkle Bloom.

Her rendition of “Dream A Little Dream Of Me” was scouted on YouTube and led to her audition for NBC’s Season 9 of The Voice, where she became a semifinalist and was mentored by Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine.

Amy has since toured over 18 countries and 45 cities with her music, sharing the stage with artists such as Joe Purdy, Jamie Lawson, M. Ward, and Postmodern Jukebox. Her first full-length record Strawberry Moon debuted at #3 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and has been described as “delicate, powerful, and full of heart.”
