President Moon Jae-in is urging related authorities to utilize all available resources to cope with the devastating fire in Gangwon-do Province.
Just about an hour ago-- the president revisited the crisis management center for an update.
Earlier on Friday,... shortly after the midnight,... the president held an emergency meeting at the top office,... where he ordered all hands to the pump to contain the fire.
"Give special attention to firefighters and others who have been dispatched to put out the fire. Local governments should be at the center of preemptive measures to actively evacuate residents from danger zones and prevent the loss of life."
The president also ordered the Prime Minister to closely monitor the situation while taking necessary actions like holding an emergency ministers' meeting.
Officials have been told to evacuate residents in vulnerable areas in a preemptive manner,... while asking the authorities to come up with plans for the welfare of the victims.
The president added the government should also cooperate with North Korea in case the fire spreads to the North.
