Dogs Can Smell
Epileptic Seizures Dogs have once again proven themselves invaluable in the lives of humans. French researches now have
proof that dogs can detect the
smell of an epileptic seizure. The University of Rennes team is using the findings to develop technology that can detect seizures. Dogs have been proven able to sniff out various cancers, Parkinson's, malaria
and diabetes. Epileptic patients can use
dogs to alert them of the
onset of a seizure. Dogs have up to 300 million olfactory receptors. Humans have only 6 million. Dr. Amelie Catala, University of Rennes, via BBC
