2019-04-02 30

Starting this year, all new models manufactured in Spain for Groupe PSA brands (Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall) will have an electrified version that will be added to the traditional offer to allow customers the choice that most of adapting to your needs.

The new generation of platforms, the technical basis on which these new vehicles will be built and which integrates the chassis, the engine, the battery, the transmission and the suspension, is the key to this industrial and technological implementation. Groupe PSA has developed two modular multi-energy platforms that allow the necessary flexibility for the production of electrified cars in the same production lines where conventional models are manufactured. In this way, the production is more agile and costs are optimized, which will allow Groupe PSA to achieve the goal of launching an electrified version of each new model that it launches to the market from this year. The 100% electric vehicles will be built on the CMP platform (Common Modular Platform) as is the case of the three new models manufactured in Spain. The plug-in hybrid vehicles will be manufactured on the platform EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform).
