The CEO of Asiana Airlines is stepping down from his key managerial posts to take responsibility for the fiasco over the company's 2018 financial statements.
The airline's parent company, Kumho Asiana Group, said Park Sam-koo also resigned as CEO of Kumho Industrial, the company's top shareholder.
Asiana had to revise its financial statements for last year, which were approved Tuesday by its auditor, Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers, showing a bigger loss than before.
Until it hires a new outside manager, Kumho Asiana Group will be under an emergency management committee led by its vice chairman.
