After more than four years and eight months, the memorial altar set up in downtown Seoul for the victims of the Sewol-ho ferry disaster... is being removed.
It's being taken down and moved today and tomorrow... from the spot where it's been at Gwanghwamun Square -- the portraits of the deceased are to be taken to the library of the Seoul Metropolitan Government before they find a permanent location.
The Gwanghwamun altar will be replaced by another memorial space for the victims.
Their families want that space to be permanent, but the city government says it cannot be... because Gwanghwamun will be remodeled starting next January.
