Odell Beckham Jr.
Traded to Cleveland Browns Beckham is being traded by
the New York Giants in exchange
for a first-round pick at the 2019 NFL draft. The Giants will also receive the
Browns’ second third-round pick,
as well as defensive safety Jabrill Peppers. The trade is a surprise as Beckham has
played five seasons with the Giants and is
considered one of the league's best wide receivers. Dave Gettleman, Giants general
manager, previously stated the team
had no plans to trade Beckham. The Giants signed Beckham to a five-year
$95 million contract in August 2018,
the biggest ever signed by a receiver. Dave Gettleman,

with Jarvis Landry, an old teammate
from Louisiana State University. John Dorsey, Browns general manager, hopes
Beckham will provide the power the team needs
to become legitimate contenders in 2019. The Browns won only seven of their games in 2018,
and haven’t made it to the playoffs since 2002.
