President Trump slammed Gavin Newsom on Twitter.
President Trump on Wednesday took to Twitter after the New York Times reported that California Governor Gavin Newsom "will announce a moratorium on capital punishment...granting a temporary reprieve for the 737 inmates who wait on the largest death row in the Western Hemisphere."
"Defying voters, the Governor of California will halt all death penalty executions of 737 stone cold killers. Friends and families of the always forgotten VICTIMS are not thrilled, and neither am I!" Trump tweeted.
This is not the first time Trump has gone after Newsom on Twitter.
Last month, he slammed California's high-speed train project.
"California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars," Trump wrote. "They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a 'green' disaster!"
Newsom promptly reacted to the tweet.
"Fake news. We're building high-speed rail, connecting the Central Valley and beyond," Newsom wrote. "This is CA's money, allocated by Congress for this project. We're not giving it back. The train is leaving the station — better get on board! (Also, desperately searching for some wall $$??)."
