GLAAD's Vanguard Award The Vanguard Award is presented to
LGBTQ+ allies who have made significant
strides in supporting the community. GLAAD considers Queen Bey and Hova
to be "global icons and passionate defenders of
human rights and acceptance for all people." Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD President and CEO The powerhouse couple even
incorporates a message of
equality with their music. Beyoncé has collaborated
with LGBTQ artists such as
Big Freedia and Frank Ocean. Jay-Z opened up about
his mother coming out as
a lesbian on his song, "Smile." The 30th GLAAD Media Awards will
take place on May 4 in Los Angeles.
