Ailing Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will not be seeking a fifth term in office. The elections, planned for April, have been postponed. Those announcements were made on state television tonight - in a letter by Bouteflika, read out on his behalf. In the letter, the president promised political and economic reforms for Algeria and that a new constitution will be drafted and voted on in a referendum. All this comes, of course, in the wake of three weeks of anti-government protests.
