President Trump praised Ivanka Trump in a tweet on Sunday.
President Donald Trump on Sunday said that his daughter Ivanka Trump has gotten little credit for achieving "so much." "My wonderful daughter, Ivanka, will be interviewed tonight by Steve Hilton on 'The Next Revolution,'" the president tweeted. "She works so hard and has achieved so much for the U.S.A.(and gets so little credit!)." Roughly a week prior, President Trump told a group of US governors, "My daughter Ivanka…has created millions of jobs. I don't know if anyone knows that, but she's created millions of jobs." According to the Washington Post, that statement is not true.
"The president, as he noted a few moments later, was referring to the White House's 'Pledge to America's Workers,'" the publication states. "Under the auspices of a workforce policy advisory board co-chaired by Ivanka Trump, about 200 companies have pledged to offer more than 6.5 million training opportunities to workers over the next five years." The Post also notes that "Ivanka Trump can certainly be congratulated for getting so many companies to put their names in writing and pledge to train workers. Yet these are not new jobs but training opportunities."
