International Cricket Council concluded six days of meetings in Dubai with a number of key decisions taken on the ICC men’s cricket world cup 2019. But there was no mention of banning Pakistan from the world cup in light of the recent Pulwama attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. BCCI had written to ICC in this regard and there is a growing chorus in India for the ICC to ban Pakistan. On the contrary, in its Dubai meet, the board moves to reassure members around security ahead of the ICC men’s cricket world cup in light of recent communication from BCCI. ICC CEO David Richardson said that the ICC, in partnership with the ECB has a robust security plan in place for the men’s cricket world cup. The question is whether ICC would turn a blind eye to the terror activities carried out from Pakistani soil and carry on entertaining the team from the country, that has been globally sidelines for giving terror a safe heaven.
