Putting the onus on the Fadnavis government, the Bombay High Court turned down a plea seeking interim lifting of the ban on Beef on the occasion of upcoming Eid festival. However, in its order, the court pointed out that the state government had banned slaughter and sale of meat, hence it is for the government to consider relaxation. The HC observed that the government banned slaughter of animals during the Jain community’s festival. Then why cannot it issue a circular relaxing the ban on beef for the Muslim community.
