The death of a 21-year-old youth from dengue triggered protests at AIIMS late on Saturday. Over 500 members of the hospital’s workers’ union held a candlelight march on campus, alleging that the patient — who was the son of an AIIMS technician — was not treated properly by doctors. Karmachari Union of AIIMS president Nanda Ballabh said the patient, Tannu Bharat Agria, had gone to AIIMS on August 28 with high fever and vomiting — which are “clear symptoms of dengue”.
