The flood situation in Assam worsened on Wednesday, with nearly 10 lakh people being swamped. At least four people have been killed in the floods. Unofficial reports put the toll at seven. The Brahmaputra continued to flow above the red mark all along its 900-km length from Sadiya to Dhubri, inundating fresh areas. Over 1.75 lakh people have been lodged in 74 relief camps.
